9 sty 2019 · On test here is the Mastodon Pro EXT – which is an important distinction. Just because a fork arch clears a tire, doesn’t mean the fork is compatible. The important measurement is whether the tire clears the crown of the fork on full compression. That’s where the EXT comes in.

The Pro fork is 50g lighter with butted 7000-series alloy for the 34mm stanchions, vs. straight gauge 6000-series alloy for the Comp. The Pro also has a deeper hollow bore to the forged aluminum crown.

5 sie 2024 · I replaced a DVO Diamond with a Manitou Mattoc Pro. The Mattoc is lighter and plusher. Both forks are finnicky to set up correctly, but I'd buy another Manitou in a heart beat. I would not buy another DVO fork. I think the Mattock is also smoother than my Fox Factory 36.

The Mastodon Pro is one of the best forks ever. Not fat bike fork, all forks. It's damping and air spring are as good or better than high end Rock Shox and Fox.
