The National Mosque of Malaysia (Malay: Masjid Negara Malaysia; Jawi: مسجد نݢارا مليسيا ) is a mosque in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It has a capacity for 15,000 people and is situated among 13 acres (53,000 m 2) of gardens. Its key features are a 73-metre-high (240 ft) minaret and a 16-pointed star concrete main roof.

Masjid Jamek used to be Kuala Lumpur’s main mosque before the existence of Masjid Negara. It’s located at the confluence of the Gombak and Klang Rivers, the same location where our capital is said to have first started. Often referred to as the Friday Mosque by the locals, Masjid Jamek was built at a cost of 32,625 Straits dollars.
27 lis 2020 · Built from 1963-1965, many of Masjid Negara’s iconic features such as the bright bluish green roof and the towering minaret resemble umbrellas. The roof looks like an open umbrella spread out to cover attendees, and the 75-foot-tall minaret calls people to prayer.
