22 sie 2012 · In this article we propose a calendar for Mars, building on an analysis by Allison and McEwen 2 of the orbital and rotational elements of Mars. This is not the first attempt at a Martian calendar. Previous proposals have been made by Levitt, 3 Aitken 4, Robinson 5, Zubrin 6, and Gangale 7.

A Martian year is approximately 668.6 sols, equivalent to approximately 687 Earth days [1] or 1.88 Earth years. The sol was adopted in 1976 during the Viking Lander missions and is a measure of time mainly used by NASA when, for example, scheduling the use of a Mars rover .
5 maj 2017 · Over extended Martian winters, the shorter days and reduced sunlight mean that solar-powered spacecraft sometimes have to carefully conserve their energy. Timing of Mars years is also important. Every 26 months, we come closer to Mars, so it's one of the best times to send spacecraft.
