Galveston’s festival takes place for the two weeks preceding Lent and ends on the official Mardi Gras date. Most festivities take place in Galveston’s in the Mardi Gras Entertainment District. Parades and other activities take place along the beachfront and Seawall Boulevard.

On the First Saturday of Galveston Mardi Gras Season, this parade officially kicks-off Mardi Gras in Galveston. The parade is filled with spectacular floats, beads, doubloons, and marching bands. The noon parade begins at 57th and Seawall and heads east towards 25th street.
