Mane and Tail long term effects? I started using the Mane and Tail shampoo about 3 months ago. I follow it up with a nice keratin conditioner. I have always had dry and thin hair that doesn’t grow past my shoulders. MNT has really thickened my strands and gave me great volume. But I still need to iron curl my hair to get a shine and a smooth look.
As far as itchy scalp it could come down to either possible build up (which can be a side effect of cowashing) you may need a clarifying treatment such as a Malibu, or it could perhaps be that your hair is not getting dry all the way.

Shampoos and conditioners don't promote hair growth. Exposure to your scalp is too short. I've heard horror stories about mane n tail. It swells your hair follicles making you think your hair is getting something out of it and it leads to more breakage.
#1. Ok I have just decided to try out the mane and tail conditioner. I was looking for a nice cream leave in conditioner. I read somewhere that it is a protein conditioner and it helps the hair grow and be stronger. Anyway I keep reading about how awful it smells.
