Distributor part numbers ending in “1” have 24° (crankshaft degrees) of mechanical advance. Distributors ending in “05” have 20° (crank-shaft degrees) of mechanical advance. Both of these may be adjusted by using Mallory Advance Curve Kit 29014 to fine tune the curve to your particular engine’s requirements.
REPLACEMENT PARTS: When ordering replacement parts, other than tune up parts, specify Model and Type of Distributor. This is necessary to insure that we deliver the correct replacement parts. The Model and Type of the Distributor is shown on the nameplate attached to the side of the housing.
Before installing the UNILITE® Distributor, make sure that your vehicle is equipped with an ignition ballast resistor (or loom resistance wire) in the wire between the ignition switch and the coil (+) terminal. Check a service manual for your vehicle to locate the ignition ballast resis-tor (or loom resistance wire).
