Fares. The current fares are as follows: (*) Journeys of up to 5 stations: €1.50. Journeys between 6 and 9 stations: extra €0.10 per station. Journeys of 10 stations or more: €2.00. When you purchase your single ticket from the ticket machine, simply select your destination and it will automatically calculate the shortest route.
If you’re visiting Madrid as a tourist and plan to use the metro frequently during your stay, then the 30-day tourist pass may be your best bet. This pass costs €35.40 and allows unlimited travel on all of Madrid’s public transportation systems including buses, metro, and trains within Zone A.

If you plan on using the metro, the ticket price increases by € 0.10 (US$ 0.10) per station after 5 stations. To travel by metro to the airport, you have to pay an additional € 3 ( US$ 3.30) per journey.
