Mach 2 does not mean anything as no combat happens with 30 minutes of flying straight at 10 km. All combat happens below 5 km, and most at or around sea level. Mach 2 jets can easily be slower than Mach 1 jets at sea level, and some Mach 1 jets are only as fast as not-conventionally-supersonic jets, at sea level.

Just got my first "Mach2 jet" Phantom FG.1 but it being stock I barley able to even reach mach2, after 10 min I get about 1984km/h at 11km altitude. Still gaining speed but about at 1kmh every 4 sec. This brings me here, did anyone with all the "mach 2 jets" tried timing which one to get to that speed fist? Archived post.

21 kwi 2022 · Under the Legacy model, the FA-18 can hit mach 1 at sea level (just like real life) and hit its top speed of mach 1.6 when really high. However, things change when you switch to the Modern model which I believe is more accurate as far as the aircraft’s banking, pitch and roll is concerned.

That covers Mach 1, but what about the other Mach numbers? Put simply, Mach 2 means that an aircraft is traveling twice the speed of sound. Mache 3 means an aircraft is traveling three times the speed of sound, and so on.
