Unplug any headphones or external speakers from your Mac. Make sure the cables from the display are connected to the ports on your Mac. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Sound in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.) Click Output, then make sure [Mac model] Speakers is selected in the output device list.
28 kwi 2020 · There's no sound coming from the internal speakers, and the audio port lights red. In OSX, I managed to fix this problem by holding a Volume key and disconnecting the headphone jack, and miraculously, it works!

My Macbook Pro is not outputting any sound to the internal speakers, including system sounds like the charging sound, when nothing is connected to the headphone jack. Sound can be heard through headphones connected to the headphone jack.
