When the Mac's "Keyboard Viewer" is up, all keys appear responsive except for the Option and Function key. I'm not sure if the Function key has always been that way because I never or rarely use it. But Control and Command show up fine.
31 sie 2020 · The option key on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid-2015; MacOS 10.12.6) just stopped working. In the first half of typing a sentence, it worked (on shift-option-hyphen). In the second half of the same sentence, it stopped working.

"Mouse Keys" enable mouse controls with keyboard numbers. Pressing the Option key five times in succession enables or disables it. Toggle this off if it is on when you aren’t expecting it to be.
