On my Mac whenever any application (chrome, spotify, slack, etc...) enters full screen mode I cannot exit or interact with the application in any way. Window control buttons (red, yellow, green - top left corner of the window) do not respond to being clicked.
3 gru 2021 · My escape key isn't working to leave full screen anymore. I know I can use control+command+F but I'd like to get the esc key to work again. It is the second time this happens to my computer and it just randomly came back after a couple of days the first time. Any ideas what could be causing that?
First, try hitting esc. That'll make well behaved programs such as DVD Player or VLC exit Full Screen Mode. No luck there, try command + tab and see if you can cycle to another open program or the Finder. ( OP tried this, but just adding for completion's sake ) Then try option + command + esc next, to try and Force Quit the application.
4 paź 2023 · If your MacBook is stuck in full-screen mode, you might be able to fix the problem simply by using a keyboard shortcut. Sometimes pressing Esc lets you exit full-screen mode. If that doesn’t work, try using Command + Control + F and check if that helps.
26 kwi 2021 · This happens if you shut down a VM without un-capturing the cursor by pressing ctrl-alt/option. If you un-capture the mouse first and then let the guest shut down, you can move the macOS cursor to the top of the fullscreen window and the menu bar will appear.
16 kwi 2022 · You can also select View > Exit Full Screen in the menu bar or press Ctrl+Command+F (on Big Sur or earlier) or Fn+F (on Monterey or later) to exit full-screen mode.
28 lip 2011 · Press ESC again and Safari exits full-screen mode. Often I press ESC several times to ensure something gets closed. I don't want Safari to exit full-screen mode when that happens. There is already a key command to exit full-screen.
