18 mar 2020 · The Problem: I need to upgrade the SSD to 1TB. I can accomplish this by cloning the 500GB drive to the 1TB drive. I will use Disk Utility from the Recovery HD volume to do this since both source and destination volumes in the cloning process will need to be unmounted.

So I wanted to clone the data from my internal 121gb apple ssd (macbook pro 2017) to my samsung 860 evo 500gb ssd. I booted in recovery mode and selected disk manager. I tried cloning with my external ssd being formatted as apfs or macos journaled and it both failed with the error osstatus 22.
15 maj 2019 · I've been trying to use the restore function of Disk Utility to clone the HD of a MBP13" 2015 to a MBP15" 2015, to no avail. It always fails with error 22. I am using target mode Thunderbolt to feed the source to the target.
