14 maj 2021 · I am currently running macOS Big Sur v11.2.3 and trying to download/install updates. It has been 2 days and its only downloaded 23.6MB out of 5.70GB. This seems unreasonably slow and I would assume Apple would have more bandwidth than this on their servers.

Here's what finally fixed it for me: Go to System Preferences > Wi-Fi, then click Details on your current Wi-Fi network. Deselect "limit IP address tracking." Internet download speed is now back to 403 Mbps and everything seems like it's back to normal at last. Hope this helps other people who are having issues with Ventura as well!
The best way to throttle bandwidth on macOS is using Dummynet, which is built into the macOS kernel and works with the pf packet filter. In my opinion the only way to effectively tune bandwidth on a per-process basis is to identify which local ports are bound by the process and then create the corresponding pf dummynet rules.

10 gru 2021 · I tried the Google speed test as well as the Ookla website and standalone app. Bottom line, speeds were inconsistent across test and browser types. I even tried the new Terminal app command of “networkquality -s” (the “-s” flag makes one test run after the other instead of simultaneously).
