Access the UNC Tuition Waiver Online Form (available in the toggle above) and enter your waiver information for taking a class(es) at NC State. Form automatically routes to the employee’s manager for approval.
Tuition Waiver Benefits. The Tuition Waiver Program provides an opportunity for permanent, full-time (75% FTE or more) faculty and staff to have tuition waived for up to 3 courses taken at any of the constituent institutions of The University of North Carolina system.
This form is not needed if also submitting a tuition waiver. IMPORTANT: If an employee does not continue in an eligible employment status for the entire semester during which the waiver is taken, the full amount of fees for that semester will then be charged to the student’s account.

If you are unable to obtain an F-1 student visa (which requires an I-20 form) in time to begin classes, you cannot enter the United States on a B-1/B-2 visitor visa and register for classes.
Is UNC Asheville a Yellow Ribbon School? Not at this time, however you may still qualify for a waiver of the out-of-state tuition. Please visit our Residency and Tuition website for more information about the Military Tuition Waiver.
Step 3: Pay the Application Fee or Request a Fee Waiver. The application fee for UNC Asheville is $75. Fee waivers can be requested directly through Common App or the CFNC application. If you have any questions about fee waiver eligibility, please email admissions@unca.edu.
