The street price of morphine increased 12% (95% CI=0.5–24.3; p=0.039), and oxycodone had a 12% increase (95% CI=5.6–18.2; p<0.001) in street price.
Street price appears to be a useful indicator of drug popularity among abuser groups. Formulary decisions may need to consider prescription opioid abuse and diversion rates and street prices for illicit sales.
