I suggest you Google the complaints against IS at the BBB and see it for yourself. Last time I looked there were 40+ major complaints, I mean really serious stuff. Whatever shortcomings Lulu or Amazon have they pale in comparison to IS.

Lulu used to be legitimate. Nowadays most people use IngramSpark or KDP for POD publishing, so it might be that Lulu changed their business practices since then. But even posts from less than a year ago seem to speak highly or neutrally about Lulu (except for their support which seems to be poor), so if they became scammy, it'd be recent.

I've been looking at lulu publishing. They just seem too good to be true. Is there some pitfall that I'm missing (perhaps one that they reserve for the final stages of the publishing process)? Nothing. If you self publish, you do everything your self; including editing.
