17 paź 2022 · One way to make an alternator charge at low RPM is by reducing the size of the alternator’s pulley. Reducing the pulley allows the alternator to run faster at the same speed. Even if the RPM is low at this point, charging will take place because the alternator is running fast.

30 paź 2016 · You will need to mechanically increase the speed or electrically increase the voltage to charge a 12 volt battery. Power output will be another problem. At 100 RPM, the power output will be reduced proportionally because the current can not safely be any higher than it was for 220 volt operation.
The charging voltage should be between 13.9v to 14.4v. Also the voltage at the battery and the voltage at the alternator should be within 0.5v of each other. If the voltage at the battery and alternator don't match. For example the battery reads 12v and alternator reads 14v.
