Lotus first entered Formula One through its sister company Team Lotus in 1958. A Lotus Formula One car driven by Stirling Moss won the marque’s first Grand Prix in 1960 at Monaco. Major success came in 1963 with the Lotus 25, which won Team Lotus its first F1 World Constructors Championship.
29 maj 2020 · At the 1960 Monaco Grand Prix, 60 years ago today, a Lotus won in Formula 1 for the first time. It wasn’t a success for the Team Lotus works squad, rather the win was taken by Rob Walker’s privately-entered Lotus piloted by none other than Stirling Moss.
The Type 21 was the first F1 car to use a reclining driving position and was the first Team Lotus car to win a world Championship Grand Prix, with Innes Ireland taking first place at Watkins Glen, USA.

28 maj 2020 · (Hethel, UK – 28 May 2020) – On 29 May 1960, Sir Stirling Moss drove his Lotus for almost three hours of punishing racing, battling through the rain on the streets of Monte Carlo to win the Monaco Grand Prix. It was the first victory in a Formula 1 world championship race for Lotus.
