Austin began shooting sporting clays in 2016 for Coach Ron on the Ridge Point High School FFA team. Since then, Austin has earned many accolades in the NSCA, including 4x Open All-American status, 2x Team USA Sporting Clays, and 2020 Team USA FITASC.

His first NSCA shoot as a D-Class shooter was the Browning Briley on April 16th of 2023 and he attained Master Class on November 4th, 2023. His extremely rapid rise through the classes was remarkable, reaching Master Class in just 6 months and 19 days.
