22 mar 2023 · Europe became the primary destination for U.S. LNG exports in 2022, accounting for 64% (6.8 Bcf/d) of total exports. Four countries—France, the U.K., Spain, and the Netherlands—accounted for a combined 74% (5.0 Bcf/d) of U.S. LNG exports to Europe.

1 kwi 2024 · Similar to 2022, Europe (including Türkiye) remained the primary destination for U.S. LNG exports in 2023, accounting for 66% (7.8 Bcf/d) of U.S. exports, followed by Asia at 26% (3.1 Bcf/d) and Latin America and the Middle East with a combined 8% (0.9 Bcf/d).

LNG imports from the US have increased substantially since the first shipment in April 2016. Data show that in 2021 LNG exports to the EU recorded the highest volume, reaching more than 22 billion cubic metres, with an estimated value of €12 billion.
