10 paź 2002 · Panther crews from Lehr also wore litzen! (Normandy summer 1944) Seems that as war progressed more strarted this practice. (Was this to avoid executuion as SS on the Russian front? I have read where Panzer crews were often thought to be SS and killed, because of totenkopf and black unis.)
