5 kwi 2008 · I have read that liquid vegetable oil can be a compromise substitute for the glycerin in rolled fondant. Shortenings loaded with emulsifiers also help improve flexibility and discourage cracking. Be careful and do not add too much or you will create another set of problems. Good luck!
10 maj 2010 · Glycerine is a natural softner. Glucose is a thicker version of corn syrup. They both make fondant more pliable and give it more strech. I don't know if they are interchangeable but I use both in the fondant receipe that I use. Glycerine is a colourless and odourless oil, glucose is a liquid sugar.
6 lut 2007 · Glucose is "clear sticky looking stuff". You should be able to find it in Hobby Lobby or Michaels as it is also sold by Wilton. I don't like to pay the extra cost of glucose, so I substitute corn syrup instead and just decrease the water a little bit. Glucose is basically corn syrup in a concentrated form.

8 maj 2008 · Glucose is a liquid sugar. You can find it in decorating supply stores, (michaels/Hobby lobby) You can sub clear corn syrup if there is nothing else available. And if desperate, you can leave it out. It can effect the moisture level so use care when you add the powdered sugar not to add too much.
