It used the WINE API to run Microsoft Windows applications. The WINE API was later dropped, as LindowsOS used a program called “Click’N’Run” (CNR).

30 sie 2003 · In 10 minutes, as advertised, I am using lindows, it has detected all my hardware correctly, even the wireless 802.11b card, and I am online logging into the Click-and-Run system. This is great! The Click-and-Run system for installing and finding software has hit the nail on the head for the novice users.

4 mar 2004 · LindowsOS is a derivative of the Xandros distribution which based on Debian GNU/Linux, makes the execution of Windows programs by the smooth integration of the Wine project easily possible. One of broader advantages is the installation simply held, there are only less user details needed to install LindowsOS.
