1 lut 2022 · For all you newbies out there with a diode laser, I have made a step-by-step guide on creating a power scale to dial in your engraving burns. Unlike the tons of other videos out there who skip steps and explanations, this video will walk you through the entire process, start to finish.
The Speed and Power settings affect the depth and darkness of an engraving. Go to Laser Tools → Material Test to test varying Speed and Power settings, and find a value that engraves nice and dark but doesn’t cut too deep.
6 wrz 2024 · Lightburn uses the Cuts/Layers settings to compute the estimated burn time. I found that the difference between computed and real increased with higher speeds. Then I am thinking, “Why!!!?”. It seems when you command high speeds, the laser cannot actually accelerate to those speeds.
The recommended speed is different for each type of material; for wood, this speed ranges from 300-500 mm/min for engraving elaborate text or logos on the product. Similarly, for acrylic, It may be slower, in the range of 200–300 mm per minute, depending on the material hardness.
