Instructions. In a large Dutch oven, bring 1 quart water, chicken, and next 5 ingredients to a boil over medium-high heat; reduce heat, and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes or until chicken is done. Stir in soup, and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat, and simmer.
While the dumplings cook, the butter melts and produces steam, creating tiny pockets that result in a light and fluffy texture. Stirring in Milk: Gently stir in milk until most of the flour is moistened.
