8 maj 2022 · I'm getting really frustrated, for months all my game updates and downloads have been automatically pausing after a few seconds. they WILL make progress in these few seconds, but i keep having to press resume constantly to get anywhere, which is making new game installs take days.

9 mar 2017 · I was trying to download a game, a game which I already played multiple times, and when I try to install it's normal until the download speed just goes to 0 bp/s. I pause it and restart it and it stops in the same moment, around 790MB.
Steam automatically pauses your downloads when a game is launched in order to prioritize the network activity for the game itself. You can turn this feature off by navigating to your download settings: Steam > Settings > Downloads.
