We run to honor law enforcement officers who gave the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the communities they serve and to also honor their survivors. LEMR was started in 1996 with two runners, two support personnel and two support vehicles.

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial is in Washington, D.C., at Judiciary Square, adjacent to the National Law Enforcement Museum. It honors 23,785 U.S. law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty throughout American history.
