Refer to your phone's manual or contact your previous service provider to find out which network your phone is/was using. If your service was active, there are some free online tools to help find your carrier by entering your phone number.
You can also use the Check Compatibility link on Tracfone's site to see if a given phone works on the network you prefer. When the page asks which network the phone is compatible with, choose your preferred network and then follow the prompts to enter your phone's IMEI.
I checked with Tracfone's available phones depending on zip codes. I entered with my zip code and LG800G doesn't show up on list when buying phone. I also checked zip code 52057 which is just 8 miles south that have LG800G appears on the list.
The main reason I'd be getting this phone would be to be able to check email while on the road where there is no wifi, so the mobile web access (any URL in any place where there is coverage indicated on the Tracfone coverage map) is crucial.
