I see the C3 being sold for $2300 on greentoe ($2700 at Costco and other retailers by me), and the G3 being offered at $3200 on greentoe ($4000 at Costco). Given my initial mental budget was to get the C3 in the $3000s this G3 price looks great. However it still would be $900 dollars more.
The G3 pros vs C3: has lower latency, higher brightness, a heat sync, higher color accuracy, better shadows, and less glare. G3 cons: cost more, not as good in some low light shots can appear muddy. C3 Pros: costs less, uses same processor, looks better in low light shots, same VVR. C3 cons:
I bought 65” C3 just before Christmas, now I bought 65” G3 as well yesterday. The reason is that the G3 did cost 60€ more than what I paid for C3. 1890€ vs 1950€, so far didn’t have time to test it much yet, but from this experience already I can say it is definitely not worth of $900 increase. It is better, but not that much better.
