Canon Lens Mounts. The easiest way to find out which lenses your camera will accept is to look at the lens mount index on the front of your EOS camera. Simply remove the lens from your camera by pressing the lens release button and twisting the lens anti-clockwise. Canon cameras have four mount types.

The EF lens mount is the standard lens mount on the Canon EOS family of SLR film and digital cameras. EF stands for "Electro-Focus": automatic focusing on EF lenses is handled by a dedicated electric motor built into the lens.
A variety of lenses from third-party manufacturers (Sigma, Tokina, Tamron, and others) are available in Canon EF mounts to fit Canon EOS camera bodies.

The EF Mount features a bayonet-style mount, which allows for quick and secure attachment of lenses to the camera body.
Each Canon EOS camera uses one of four different lens mounts. Each type of lens is designed to fit a particular lens mount: RF and RF-S lenses are for use with EOS R System mirrorless cameras – see below. EF, TS-E (tilt-shift) and MP-E (macro) lenses are designed for the EF mount on Canon EOS DSLR cameras.
