Karosta Prison is the only military prison in Europe open to tourists. It is recognized as the most unusual and surprising hotel in the world. The building was originally intended as a military hospital but was never used for this purpose.

This place is a really interesting place to visit. The prison is located in a town just north of Liepaja. The adventure started with getting the bus and trying to work out which stop to get off at just by using the map. We thought our luck was in when we asked an old woman when to get off and she gestured for us to get off and follow her.
