Personally I’ve used Monroe quick struts and shocks and never had issues. I tried KYB on my Maxima and the rear shocks were laughably harsh, the back end would practically bounce down the road. And then one of the strut bearings failed so it sounded like a loud creaky door when steering.
Are KYB Gas-A-Just shocks any good? With my car lowered on springs, I want to replace my shocks with some sports shocks to reduce body roll. I know the safest answer would be Bilstein shocks, but I just cannot justify spending close to 600 CAD on all 4 corners for shocks.
Put some on my Honda in January. I value handling and they didn't dissapoint; a little rough when they were first installed but became pleasant after around 15k kms of use. I've read that KYB tunes their dampers to "compensate for worn parts" and they've certainly done that.

23 wrz 2022 · Most complaints are with KYB mounts and the cheaper rubber bellows that might deteriorate sooner. As for Monroe the QS assemblies and OESpectrum rear shocks carry lifetime warranty even for normal wear, so you won't have to buy another set for the remainder of the car's life.
