15 wrz 2023 · The Kwilu River forms the easterly sub-basin that connects to the Kwango River system. The river is navigable up to the major center of Kikwit. Today a bridge on the N1 motorway spans the 130 m [426 ft] wide river in this location.
While the Kwango enters the Kasai near the city of Bandundu, 20 km [12.5 mi] upstream on the Kwango, the Kwilu River joins the Kwango from the east. We will look at the Kwilu separately. At Bandundu, the Kwango is over 500 m [1640 ft] wide.
