Robert Half - SOOO many complaints here from across the board, definitely ignore these people. Teksystems - Seems to be as bad as Robert Half with just a slightly less amount of people complaining about them. If you're lucky and get David Whelon from Teksystems as your recruiter, trust him.
I've been trying to get a job since I graduated in May (fuck covid man), and I'm wondering if I shouldn't be skipping every company with "staffing" in their name. All of them sound like revature type scams. Is this an incorrect assumption on my part?
Alot of places like Aerotek are staffing agencies and hire candidates on a contract "to hire" basis. All of them will tell you that candidates are offered permanent positions with said company (which is false) once the contract runs out.
KForce is a waste of time recruiting firm that only deals with entry level or bottom of the barrel positions. I kept getting messages from them from people who had names from tv shows so I assumed they were fake. They are a legit recruiting firm, but recruiter firms in general are kinda meh.
Fake job scams come in many different varieties, though most share common characteristics that you can use to spot the scam before becoming a victim. The scammers will usually conduct interviews over Google Hangouts or a similar online service.
On the other hand, My experience with permanent staffing agencies hasn’t been great. A lot of bait and switch or you’ll interview with them and they promise you the moon and then go radio silent after leaving multiple voice mails and emails.
