This is an extension of the existing Butterworth-Padang Rengas Line , with direct access soon to Kuala Kangsar , and a new high catchment city of Ipoh .
Kuala Kangsar KTM Komuter Trains. From the 16th of September '23, the Butterworth to Padang Rengas KTM Komuter Utara route has been extended to Ipoh, stopping at Kuala Kangsar. These regular, cheaper trains can now be used to travel from Kuala Kangsar to Ipoh (to the south), or from Kuala Kangsar to Butterworth (to the north).
