9 cze 2006 · I'd recommend the 450 XC as KTM's best all-around bike. It's a perfect blend for mixed MX and off-road use, much more versatile than any of the SX's. KTM also makes a 525 XC, which might be a decent choice, but it's basically last year's MXC w/ no spark arrestor or lights.
Known issues foir the 525 series motors: Valves need frequent adjustment and for dual sporting get DJH from KTM talk to redo your head with SS Kibblewhite valves that last forever. Left side crank bearings are prone to failure.
1 sty 2014 · So today I checked out the you tube video on how to adjust the valves and went for it! It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. The inlets seemed ok but re did them anyway, but the exhausts were tight with no gap at all!
24 lut 2009 · •We pulled two riders right off of '03 CRF450Rs and had them try some laps on the KTM 450 SX. Both commented that the SX front end felt lighter and more responsive in tight turns.
