26 mar 2023 · the 2.7L EcoBoost engine in the new Ford F-150 truck offers 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque - not bad for the relatively small V6 powerplant; the engine block is made of compacted graphite iron making it durable and very lightweight;
Like other EcoBoost power units, the 2.7L version is designed to deliver comparable power and torque of large displacement, naturally aspirated V6 and V8 engines only with less fuel consumption and emissions. The 2.7 EcoBoost was firstly introduced in 2015 as a new engine for the Ford F-150.
27 maj 2021 · The 2.7 isn't built to haul the same weight as a 3.5, different frame, etc. The 5.0 will haul nearly the same heavy trailer but you'll need to scream the motor (it makes power with RPM, not lugging). Just depends what you are most comfortable with.
8 sie 2023 · As far as the 3.5 EcoBoost it’s also a great platform. Cheap to tune and crank crazy power out of. Gobs of low end torque. 500 lb ft @3,000 rpm. 3.5 EcoBoost: 400 HP/ 500 lb ft @3,000 rpm
12 sty 2024 · The 2.7 was a well designed engine and has been trouble free for the most part with several owners going well over 200,000. Ford made some improvements in 2018. It has a lot of low end torque but those twin turbos will consume a lot of gas getting the job done.
No regrets. Towed with both 5.0 and 2.7 and the 2.7 feels way more powerful due to the power curve. Haven’t towed with a 3.5 but unloaded them both seem the same quickness. The 3.5 most likely tows better than the 2.7 so if you are towing heavy regularly (like 50-60 times a year) then the 3.5 is most likely the best bet.
