INDONESIA'S confrontation of Malaysia during the years 1963 to 1966 was an enigmatic affair, less than a war but something more than a mere diplomatic dispute.
The people of Malaysia and Indonesia established kinship relations long before the two countries were formed which gave rise to similarities in culture, customs, and habits. However, in reality, the national perspective of each country is not always.
The ambiguity was to exploited to the full purpose of confrontation to have utter of internal politics as external. It gave a clear signal to the press leaders at home to mount the sort of 'revolutionary' against the confronted which had become a familiar feature the Indonesian political scene.
