12 mar 2022 · Cheap Full Body Tracking Solutions for the Quest 2 & Other Headsets. Did you know that up until the last year, the cheapest full-body tracking (FBT) solution was over $800 for a basic setup? The most common way to achieve FBT is with Vive trackers and Steam’s Lighthouses.
I'd say if you were willing to wait until summer of next year, you will probably see a ton of new options, rather than sinking a ton of cash into lighthouse based tracking.
Full body tracking is possible with the Oculus Quest and Quest 2 headsets (currently only in PC VR). The cheapest way to track body movement in VR is by using Kinect. Alternatively, full body tracking can also be achieved with HTC Vive base stations and trackers or using custom tracking solution from Antilatency.
I had tried to get full body tracking working on the Quest 2 running VRChat wirelessly but could never succeed. Finally I found the trick and it's this: once you set up calibration with the space calibration took, you can't take the headset off or let it go into sleep mode.
