Kohala Spa charges a 5 stars price but a 3.5 star facilities. The facilities are outdated, whirl pool not working and there is no pool or hot tub at the spa. The showers are not refreshed after each use so It's a bit gross. The shampoos, shower gel and conditioner bottles are bit crusty.

Kohala Spa offers a variety of treatments and services. The facility is clean, well staffed and full of aloha from check in to check out. The acai blueberry water in the waiting room is refreshing.

We have been fortunate to experience some amazing spas in various locations including the Mandara Spa at Hilton Hawaiian Village on Oahu, so our expectations of the Kohala Spa were high. While the actual 50 minute massage was good, the overall spa experience was well below average.
This is not a coed spa, but if you want a first class spa, steamroom, sauna experience in a private tranquil spot, stop in and relax. If you're staying at the hotel don't miss out. The services are expensive, but consistent with resort prices.
