17 cze 2024 · Talk didn’t last long at KMPC, so in 1997 Leykis was part of the FM talk format on KLSX (now KNX-FM, 97.1). Here is where his show made a 180-degree turn away from politics and general issues.
The show was produced by CBS Radio as part of its Free FM format, and was based out of KLSX in Los Angeles. On February 20, KLSX changed format from hot talk to Top 40 (CHR) as KAMP-FM, and The Adam Carolla Show was canceled along with several other programs.
Adam replaced Howard Stern at KLSX on January 3, 2006 and left the FM Talk Station 2.20.09 with a format flip to AMP RADIO. He pioneered a new era of podcasting. His podcast boasts 350,000 downloads daily.
18 cze 2024 · Longtime Los Angeles talk radio host Tom Leykis is stepping away from his internet-based show, calling it a career. The former KFI AM-640 host also spent time in L.A. on then KMPC 710 and also on the hot talk formatted KLSX during his long tenure in the City of Angels.
After leaving radio, Rich exploited the business side of his talents by becoming the marketing manager at Roscoe’s’ House of Chicken and Waffles and eventually full manager of the South Los Angeles store.
You can still catch all of them daily. Stern, Corolla, Frosty Heidi Frank, Leykis, Conway are on the air everyday. Granted, they are not all on the same dial but that station in some ways is still with us in 2017. The only part I miss was the annual FM Talk Think Tank.
