The station began airing the Howard Stern Show weekday mornings on July 21, 1991. The station moved to a talk format as "Real Radio 97.1" on July 31, 1995. It featured Susan Olsen from the Brady Bunch and Kato Kaelin, who gain notoriety from the O.J. Simpson murder trial.
