You want to escape retrograde to the Mun ("behind" it), parrallel to its trajectory. keep burning prograde until you get a Kerbin apoapsis of 60k if you're patient, 30k if you want to land as soon as possible.
29 kwi 2014 · The thing is that launching from Kerbin takes a lot of fuel, as does burning to Kerbin escape. So the idea is to circumvent both of those by establishing a colony on either Minmus or Mun (using Kethane etc), with re-usable landers and a fuel depot as a staging point for interplanetary travel.
This will cause you to escape the Mun while simultaneously lowering your orbit around Kerbin. Once you escape the Mun, burn retrograde until your periapsis is below about 30 km. The atmosphere will then catch you.
15 wrz 2017 · Just as you get snagged by Mun when you're travelling to Mun from Kerbin, you need to get away from Mun in order to travel anywhere else. Once you escape Mun en route to Minmus, the game considers you as "orbiting Kerbin" until you get close enough to Minmus.
Mun isn't even that short of a trip in terms of ∆v. It takes a good 2600m/s to land and return from LKO, that's plenty of room for the Nerv's vastly superior specific impulse to shine. Ike, for example, is 50-100m/s less to land and return from LKO.
