22 sty 2023 · Transferring From the Mun to Kerbin. When you are ready, just start burning prograde until you get an orbit around Kerbin and an escape trajectory from the Mun. An easier way to do this is to just burn upwards from launch sending you straghit up to an escape trajectory (about 2,000km). Keep in mind that this method does require more fuel to ...
Best way to do it, is to plan the exit in the opposite direction as the moon itself is orbiting. After that you can set your PE between 30 and 70k (i recommend about 40k to be safe, but it also depends on the vessel), so that you can airbrake and land on kerbin.
29 kwi 2014 · Hi, has anyone made a tool or mod that helps calculate optimal launch windows for using Mun or Minmus as a departure point and Kerbin as a gravity assist? Because of the long orbital periods of Mun and Minmus, it can interfere with planning a launch if you're in the wrong point of its orbit durin...
Basically, Mun slingshots can seem like a good idea, because you can basically escape Kerbin's SOI for free (after getting to the Mun). But if are actually trying to reach another planet, you've actually dug yourself into a bit of a hole.
3 kwi 2012 · The easiest way to get back to Kerbin from the Mun I found is to get in orbit eastward around the Mun, when you see Kerbin rise on the horizon, you boost prograde until an apoapsis of 5-10 millions meters. 13 millions is the real number, but it work below that if you\'re low on fuel.
I can escape the mun with 1 delta V left but that leaves me in an orbit with a periapsis of 13,000,000m. I will try controlling thurst so that i'm continuously burning at my apoapsis while escaping, then report back.
9 lip 2024 · Perform a Trans-Kerbin Injection (TKI) to escape the Mun's gravity. Upon reentry into Kerbin's SOI, burn retrograde at apoapsis. Use atmospheric braking to slow down and prepare for reentry. Around 30-40 kilometers above the surface is a good altitude for aerobraking on Kerbin.
