Purchased two weeks ago at Acoustic Music works here in Pittsburgh PA A Kentucky KM-250S. I believe this is last years model as it has the darker brown finish.If you go. to Saga's site they dropped the S and just call it the 250. and it only comes in the sunburst finish. It is a little odd that inside my mandolin only 250 it written,but with no S.

What is the difference between the Kentucky KM-150 and the KM-250 mandolin? In mid-2012 the Kentucky KM-150 mandolin production was moved to a new shop. This new shop produced a much better version of the KM-150 shortly after, it became one of the most recommended of the lower priced mandolins.

Price Paid: $249 ($US) (bought USED) Sound. This mandolin suprisingly has a very balanced sound. Mostly on the brighter side, but can really bark on the middle and bass strings as well.

Kentucky KM-250 A-Style Mandolin With Case. Great hollow and woody tone! The KM-250 is a bit of a step up from the KM-150 in that it has a little better wood selection, a radiused fretboard, nicer inlay, and a more friendly string spacing feel for the left hand. Just overall better sounding and easier to play.
Up for sale is a wonderful sounding and easy playing Kentucky Mandolin KM-250S. The S means all solid woods; the top is solid spruce and the neck, sides and back are solid maple. No plywood! The color of this mandolin is absolutely beautiful.
