I have been looking at the KM 250s based on price and ratings at musiciansfriend.com. I was wondering if there is any one with some advice on this mandolin, or if there are any suggestions on a good mandolin in the $200-400 range. Thank you.
Re: Kentucky KM-250S. It’s really hard to tell just from what information you have. That model went through a lot of changes through the years. In the 1990s they were Korean made and had a solid spruce top with laminated back and sides.

1990s Kentucky KM-250S Mandolin (Serial No. 12200) Excellent condition. There is no accurate serial number list of Kentuckys, so the date is an educated guess. It might be older. Nice clean Kentucky A5 style mandolin with the snakehead heaadstock, solid spruce top and laminated maple back and sides. Rosewood bridge and fretboard.
16 lip 2014 · This mandolin suprisingly has a very balanced sound. Mostly on the brighter side, but can really bark on the middle and bass strings as well. Sound Rating: 10.
Mint-condition, never used Kentucky mandolin (model KM-250S). No significant wear or tear. Plays beautifully. Manufactured in 2001. Comes with hard case (shown in pictures).
