Here, the mountain waters of Kedron Brook surge through a narrow flume, slide for a long distance through a slim chute, and eventually begin their steep descent towards the highway far below. There is a fine trail to the falls, but it is far less used than others in the state park.
The Kedron Flume Trail is used by hikers to access 4000-footer Mt. Willey, but along the way, the trail crosses Kedron Flume, a long series of cascades. It's only a mile up the trail and hiking to it does not involve any serious climbing.
