I am one of those Kai sa players that will build guinsoo and mash or and then AD from there on out. Why limit yourself to doing one type of damage when you can do 2 types of damage, making it more difficult for the enemy to build around your offense.

If they have a bunch of squishies then it's better go for the AD route. Depending on the gameflow, if you have a good pick comp you may want to go with Stormrazor/AD route for the slow on prio targets. If your lane is passive and you're looking to scale harder, go with the manamune build.
AP Kai’sa deals damage by hitting W AND stacking her passive, and to stack passive you will need your autos - which deal AD damage. So getting Q evolve first and maxing Q is still very beneficial, especially in the early game.
