Kahoolawe is a demographic anomaly: among the eight major islands of the Hawaiian Archipelago, it is the only one without a resident population. This fact was attested not only by the 1980 decennial census but by every census since World War II.
1/ Oahu includes Sand Island, Mokauea Island, Ford Island, Moku o Loe and the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. 2/ Maui includes Kahoolawe and Molokini (uninhabited).
