To be eligible for USJF National Competition Shodan Batsu-gun Rank, the candidate must satisfy the following criteria: 1. Enter the USJF/USJA Summer National Championships in the shiai competition as a registered member of
USJA Judo Rank Promotion System – 9th and 10th Dan Promotion Requirements. The ranks of Ninth Degree and Tenth Degree Black Belt (Kudan & Judan) are the highest in Judo. At these ranks one is permitted to wear a red belt or a black belt.
Candidates must meet certain minimum requirements to become eligible for promotion. They must then pass an exam and be recommended for promotion by their instructor/Certified Rank Examiner. All candidates for promotion must be Active Annual or Sustaining Life Members with the proper time in grade in the previous rank.
Certified Rank Examiners (CRE) of all levels will be expected to obtain a copy of the new Guide and familiarize themselves with every aspect. Each Certified Rank Examiner will then asked to update their certification with the purchase the manual.
